Hi! I'm Morgan

I am passionate about creating meaningful, collaborative relationships that support your unique goals and relationships beyond therapy. I believe you are the expert in your own life, and together we will explore what safety, connection, and growth look like for you. I regularly reflect your strengths (like how you’ve coped and what brought you here) as signs of your courage and innate capacity to support yourself.
I am guided by a trauma-informed lens (meaning that your autonomy, agency, and choice are emphasized in our relationship) and am informed by feminist approaches to harm reduction (which means I prioritize care, consent, and dignity over control). I integrate intersectionality and strive to hold space where all parts of your identity feel welcomed and embraced. Above all, I believe that in order to move closer to meaningful change, we need to feel seen and understood. As such, our work together will be highly relational and you can expect me to prioritize our relationship alongside your inner world that we will be exploring.
I support individuals navigating a range of concerns, including self-worth and self-esteem, eating and body image concerns, relationship issues, grief and loss, caregiving, and trauma. I believe people come to counselling in response to unmet relational needs, emotional challenges, and the complexities of navigating oppressive systems. I am committed to social justice and advocacy within my practice and invite conversations around the same.
Before becoming a counsellor, I worked in community services for over a decade in roles including crisis intervention, health care system advocacy and navigation, support services for adults living with a disability and older adults, and dementia support. My experience in my clinical practicum focused on supporting youth and young adults around issues such as identity and career, anxiety, people pleasing and perfectionism, body image concerns, grief, and trauma. I enjoy working with individuals across the life span, from youth to older adults.
My approach to counselling is integrative and guided by modalities informed by neuroscience (e.g., polyvagal theory), systems thinking (e.g., holistic and empowering therapies like IFS), and attachment theory and emotions (e.g., EFT). I tend to draw from “bottom-up” somatic and sensory approaches as the foundation of our work. Together, and as necessary, we may explore “top-down” approaches like CBT and DBT to support cognitive processing as your nervous system achieves safety and harmony. My work is rooted in cultural humility and continuous learning (and unlearning!), alongside an attuned presence, humour, and deep listening.
I regularly practice the “courage to be imperfect” and support cultivating self-trust which guides my work as a client in my own counselling. Having struggled with an eating disorder when I was younger, I highly value the therapeutic, confidential, and compassionate relationships that were part of my healing and feel honoured to be able to offer the same regardless of what brings you to counselling. Outside of being a counsellor, I enjoy spending time in nature (usually walking my dog), exploring coffee shops in new neighbourhoods, moving my body (biking, skiing, strength training), making cards, and cooking for my family.
